Dusseldorf Fashion Days: A Preview

Marc Cain presentation in Dusseldorf

Dusseldorf’s perspective on fashion is shifting. Gone are the days of one single trade show, to be replaced by what TribaSpace is calling Dusseldorf Fashion Days.

CPD Dusseldorf, a trade fair for women’s wear and accessories (July 25-27), will play a significant role in Dusseldorf Fashion Days, and aims to bring renowned fashion designers together with specialist retailers and leading brands. The show is to be staged in six distinct sectors–including Gallery, Concept 11, Boutique, Modern Essentials, and Decorate: The World of Accessories and Italian Suite.  The international designers will showcase their latest collections of women’s wear, jewellery, hats, bags and accessories.

Buyers and industry specialists would be smart to head to Dusseldorf, however, a bit prior to the date for The Supreme Order Trade Fair (July 23–29). Organized by Munich Fashion Company, the first show debuts in Northern-Rhine-Westfalia.

Retailers will be able to visit stands of both well-established and new brands: over 100 high-quality brands will showcase their collections in the exhibition halls.

Voices of Fashion Dusseldorf

VOICES of FASHION is the accompanying platform of exhibitions and events to all of next week’s catwalks and showrooms. Whisper Lounge by Chivas is a networking event designed to analyze the business side of fashion.  High Street Focus is also on the agenda, bringing consumers and retailers together through shop openings and presentations by Guess and Filippa K, among others.

Custo Barcelona Spring Summer 2011 show Berlin

The Custo Barcelona show will take place on July 24th. Pieces in bright colors and extravagant cuts will be the highlight of the catwalk show.

Styleclicker City – Menschen des 21. Jahrhunderts will open at NRW-Forum on July 24th.  The near thousand images shot by German–Swedish photographer and passionate blogger Gunnar Haemmerle (a.k.a. Styleclicker) make up the largest exhibition to-date dedicated to a single fashion blogger.

The exhibition showcases life-size portraits of people that Haemmerle has photographed over the course of the past three years. At the opening, visitors will be integrated into the show–their photographs will be incorporated into the collection.

Dusseldorf Fashion Days are fast becoming a solid platform from which to capitalize on contacts and trade opportunities in one of Europe’s leading retail markets. For future updates and showroom news visit the TribaSpace Channel.
